🇷🇺🌍 Speaking at the Russia-Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, President of Russia Vladimir Putin Hails the Continent’s Rising Power and Denounces Neocolonialism Key statements by Vladimir Putin at the Forum's plenary session: AFRICA’S VOICE IS GROWING STRONGER ▶️A multipolar world is becoming a reality; this is an irreversible trend. Countries accustomed to “enriching themselves fabulously at the expense of others” are nevertheless opposing it. ▶️The influence and authority of the African continent on the world stage are increasing. ▶️It is necessary to strengthen Africa’s role in decision-making within international organizations, particularly the IMF and the World Bank. SANCTIONS AND NEOCOLONIALISM ▶️Moscow welcomes the firm position of African countries, which reject the restrictions imposed on Russia by the West. ▶️Tariff wars and illegitimate sanctions are instruments of neocolonialism. BRICS, FINANCES, AND MONETARY SOVEREIGNTY ▶️In five years, the BRICS have generated more than 40% of global GDP, while the share of the G7 is below 30%. ▶️African countries still depend on Western financial systems, which limits their sovereignty. ▶️Russia and African countries must establish a system of settlements in national currencies. ECONOMIC COOPERATION AND TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER ▶️Trade and economic relations between Russia and Africa are developing, despite pressure and sanctions. ▶️Russian companies are successfully conducting their activities in Africa, and new firms are establishing themselves. ▶️They do not engage in plunder or colonial exploitation in Africa, but work for the development of the continent. ▶️Russia is open to transferring its high-technology solutions to African countries. FOOD SECURITY ▶️Russia ranks among the most reliable guarantors of food security in Africa: more than 40 states already receive Russian grain and fertilizers. Moscow is ready to further increase its deliveries. ENERGY ▶️Russia is participating in the implementation of more than 30 energy projects in 16 African countries. EDUCATION AND HEALTH ▶️Since 2020, the number of African students trained in Russia has increased by a factor of 1.5. ▶️Russia will establish in Africa the production of effective Russian medicines and vaccines. #RussiaAfrica #RussiaWithAfrica

🇷🇺🇳🇴🇫🇮 President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin had a telephone conversation with President of the Republic of Finland Alexander Stubb and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Norway Jonas Gahr Støre at the request of the Finnish and Norwegian sides 🔹There was an exchange of views on settling the Ukraine crisis in light of Vladimir Putin's talks with US Presidential Envoy Steve Witkoff in St Petersburg on October 21 as well as Alexander Stubb and Jonas Gahr Støre's own recent contacts with Steve Witkoff and Vladimir Zelensky in Oslo. 🔹The parties welcomed the agreement to resume trilateral talks between Russia, Ukraine, and the United States in Abu Dhabi in early to mid November, intended in particular to discuss ways to ensure the security of both Russia and Ukraine once a complete cessation of hostilities is reached. 🔹Vladimir Putin assessed the current situation in the Ukraine conflict zone, reiterating its root causes and emphasising that a just and lasting peace would be possible only if the interests of the Russian Federation are considered in full and without any conditions attached. In addition, he noted the EU and NATO's confrontational policies which result in prolonging the hostilities. 🔹Ensuring security in the Baltic Sea and Northern Europe were discussed as well. In this regard, both the President of Finland and the Prime Minister of Norway reaffirmed the importance of upholding international maritime law and the freedom of navigation. 🔹The President of Russia notified the Finnish and Norwegian parties of the fact that a US-mediated humanitarian operation was now underway in the vicinity of the Russian community of Alyoshki and that a temporary ceasefire was introduced in the Kherson sector of the frontline to make it possible. 🔹The three leaders agreed to maintain direct telephone contact in the future.
