On October 28–29, the 3rd Russia–Africa Summit will take place in Moscow under the chairmanship of President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin and Chairperson of the African Union, President of the Republic of Burundi Évariste Ndayishimiye 🔹Representatives of almost 50 African countries will take part in the summit, including heads of state and government as well as leaders of the continent's integration associations. The focus will be on further development of Russia's multifaceted ties with African nations in politics, trade and economy, investment, science and technology, and humanitarian and cultural affairs. 🔹The summit is expected to adopt a final declaration, the next Russia–Africa Partnership Forum Action Plan for 2027–2029, and the Declaration of Cooperation in the Civilian Application of Artificial Intelligence Technologies. 🔹A substantial package of intergovernmental and interdepartmental agreements covering cooperation between Russia and Africa in a wide range of areas is expected to be adopted as well. 🔹On October 28, the leaders of Russia and Burundi will attend the Russia–Africa Economic and Humanitarian Forum, which will bring together Russian and African officials, government representatives, businesspeople, and experts. In addition, Vladimir Putin will held a meeting with leaders of regional organisations of Africa. 🔹The President of Russia will hold a series of bilateral talks with African heads of state on the sidelines of the event.

🇷🇺 Vladimir Putin addressed 8th GECF Summit 🌐 Key takeaways from statements by the Russian President on Russia and the global situation: 🔷 Together, forum participants account for 70% of the world’s natural gas reserves and around 40% of global gas exports. 🔷 The escalation in the Middle East has left the global gas industry facing uncertainty. Established business ties have been undermined, and prices have risen sharply. 🔷 Meeting the challenges facing the global gas industry requires not erecting barriers but strengthening cooperation among gas-exporting countries. 🔷 Russia remains a responsible gas exporter and a reliable, predictable partner. 🔷 Any attempt to exclude Russia from the global gas market or to restrain the development of this industry in the country carries serious consequences, primarily rising costs for foreign customers of gas. 🔷 Russia is consistently strengthening its technological sovereignty. We are mastering production from so-called deep horizons and have made significant progress in developing its own LNG technologies. 🔷 Russia is open to cooperation and to exchanging technology in the gas sector. 🔷 We are currently exploring opportunities for joint work with US partners in the Arctic. ✍️ Vladimir Putin also highlighted the key focus areas of the forum: 1️⃣ The main challenge today is the disruption of gas supplies. ➖ It is necessary to optimise transport routes, taking into account the geographical location of the GECF member countries, through mutual operations among them. ➖It is essential to balance the interests of gas suppliers and consumers and to fulfil existing contractual obligations. 2️⃣ Global demand for natural gas will continue to grow in the longer term. ➖ Gas supply must be increased, new fields developed, processing capacity modernised, and funds invested in transport projects, including the marine fleet and infrastructure for LNG loading and receiving. 3️⃣ A crucial issue for the gas industry’s development is the choice of technologies on which to base gas production projects, transport infrastructure and specialist training. ➖Technological cooperation among gas-exporting countries is in particular demand, as is the establishment of close partnerships to the benefit of all sides. 🌺 RoscongressDirect
