🇳🇬 ABU lecturer shot dead after farmhouse abduction Armed gunmen kidnapped and killed Dr Iliyasu Abubakar Sadiq, a lecturer and researcher at Ahmadu Bello University's Division of Agricultural Colleges in Zaria, on Sunday, 20 September 2026. Four armed men broke into his farmhouse at Tudun Muntsira, near ABU's Samaru Campus, around 10am and dragged him away despite pleas from his family. His body was found at Karau-Karau village at around 2pm — he had been shot in the head. His phone and other belongings were taken. Dr Sadiq, a specialist in Entomology and former Head of Programme for Pest Management at ABU, leaves behind a widow, Hajiya Baraka, and several children, the youngest approximately eight months old. His last words were a plea to his wife to care for their children as he was taken away. Source
