📝 🇺🇸 🗳 Trump and the GOP built a potent political base and then dynamited it so thoroughly; an astonishing rise and fall. The medium to long term issue is just now, the Democrats earnestly don't want to deliver much of anything to their voters either. They don't even earnestly oppose the war in Iran and obviously they are furiously stroking it to the heckin' Ukrainians more overtly that Trumps gimp suited twats did. Can the country survive 2 years of a congress unlikely to do much except investigate and hold hearings? The economy will almost certainly crumble from energy crisis, and the wars are respectively unwinnable and not very popular. Democrats are as dedicated to Zionism as the GOP, just more lowkey about it. The real danger for America is either a Dem slimmer majority; that tries to "AHH Schucks we couldn't get anything done.... vote for us again, just not toooooo much okay?" or a Dem giga-majority that has to just outright avoid doing anything and says "Fuck it!". The hour is late, economy dead, wars unwinnable but the danger now is that the new faction in power is unwilling to abandon unpopular wars in any meaningful sense. Has zero real desire to do anything on the economy, they don't want to do universal healthcare or cancel student loan debt or any of that, and they will send 60 morbillion to Israel, to Ukraine, to fuck all. Thus America is still on its slated road to ruin. The GOP for its part is back where it was in 2014; a dying party with a dying voter base, only now that voter base that remains is a decade and some change closer to the grave. Democrats are still hoping to rule and govern but not have to do anything but psychological rewards and money checks for select clients whom they can't afford to pay off all of them anymore. 📎 Mojave Art Club

🇺🇸🇷🇺🇪🇺🇺🇦 US revives push to sell Russian gas to Europe via Ukraine US officials are promoting a plan for Russia to resume natural gas sales to Europe via Ukraine’s pipelines, with a US intermediary, the Wall Street Journal reported on November 2, citing unnamed US, European and Ukrainian officials. US envoys Jared Kushner and Steve Witkoff promoted the idea during trips to Moscow and Kyiv in September. The proposal was put on the back burner last month after Ukraine paused strikes on Russian refineries under pressure from US President Donald Trump. Kiev has since resumed attacks, Bloomberg reported. The source account does not say that officials formally put the proposal back on the table, so this story describes the renewed promotion without asserting a formal revival. Witkoff and Kushner first urged Kiev and European governments to resume Russian gas imports in October, and the European Commission rejected the idea within days. Routing Russian gas through a US intermediary could test how the EU’s legally binding phase-out applies to this arrangement. The regulation bars qualifying long-term Russian LNG contracts from January 1, 2027 and pipeline supplies from September 30, 2027, or November 1 if storage targets are not met. Its application to a US intermediary has not been established. European capitals have so far closed ranks. “We should not buy anything that goes into Putin’s war chest, including Russian gas,” German Economy and Energy Minister Katherina Reiche said on October 26, as Poland’s Finance and Economy Minister Andrzej Domanski ruled out any return to Russian gas at a Polish-German business forum in Warsaw. Slovakia is the outlier and has said it will keep buying Russian gas, and the Kremlin has urged Europe not to rule out a return. The refinery pause that shelved the gas plan lasted about two weeks. Washington refused Kiev any reward for halting the strikes, and Ukraine broke the pause on October 30 when drones hit Rosneft's Novokuibyshevsk refinery in Samara region. Relations between Washington and Kiev hit a low last month after Trump struck a Russian diesel deal with President Vladimir Putin, under which the US held off tightening sanctions on Russia in return for Moscow supplying limited volumes of diesel to the global market to cool prices. European gas prices reached their highest in almost four years, with the Dutch TTF benchmark approaching €100 per MWh in late October as conflict in the Middle East disrupted Qatari LNG exports. EU storage was 74.89% full on October 29, against a five-year average of about 89.7% for late October. Germany’s tanks were 61.61% full, adding to concerns over its ability to refill storage over the summer. Ukraine’s transit pipelines are intact, and flows could resume if a deal were reached. Russian gas exports to Europe via Ukraine stopped when the five-year transit agreement expired at the end of 2024 and Kyiv declined to renew it. 🔗 https://www.intellinews.com/us-revives-push-to-sell-russian-gas-to-europe-via-ukraine-480939/

🇺🇸☢️🇮🇷 Tucker Carlson claims Donald Trump could order a nuclear attack on Iran's Pickaxe Mountain nuclear research site at the behest of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu Netanyahu allegedly told Trump Iran "has restarted" its uranium enrichment program at that site and he has major allies in the form of Defense Secretary, Pete Hegseth and CENTCOM Commander, Brad Cooper, supported by Marco Rubio and CIA director, John Ratcliffe, urging Trump to "ditch" diplomacy and resume combat operations while JD Vance and Steve Witkoff allegedly advised Trump to keep diplomacy open. Tucker says Netanyahu's motivation to manipulate Trump into dropping atomic bombs on Pickaxe Mountain is related to internal Israeli politics warning that if Netanyahu gets his way, it will shatter the taboo among nuclear armed states on using tactical nuclear weapons on the battlefield pointing towards Russia using them on Ukraine, Pakistan and India on each other and North Korea (DPRK) attacking the South (ROK). 📝Patricia Marins: There’s one point Tucker Carlson doesn’t mention: the destruction an Iranian retaliation could cause. No one needs half a ton of 60% enriched uranium for anything except a weapon. It doesn’t matter what they say or what kind of legislation they claim to follow. Starting from that premise, I would say that whoever had 60% enrichment more than a year ago and an agreement with the North Koreans, today not only has over 90% enrichment, but already possesses miniaturized warheads as well as dual-use missiles. The chance that Iran has nuclear weapons today is very high. What would Iran’s response be if attacked? Strikes with missiles against Israel, and given the accuracy of recent launches against bases in Jordan, I would say Iranian missiles are better calibrated than they were in March. Let’s say Iran responds and hits Israel with a warhead. What proportions are we talking about now? Netanyahu is a megalomaniac whose executive brain function is incapable of measuring risks and self-preservation. I don’t think Trump will commit this madness, but if he does, there is a significant risk that much more than contaminated water will occur. 📝Anon: While Tucker Carlson's allegations sound plausible the one statement that shakes the credibility of his claims is his allegation that JD Vance and Steve Witkoff "favor" diplomacy. Vance did not raise any objections at the beginning of the year while the 40 Day War was being prepared meanwhile Witkoff, one of two key negotiators with Iran was extremely unprofessional in his dealings with the Iranians and seemingly deliberately misrepresented Iran's position and demands to Trump in order to convince him to launch the war. What was even the point of mentioning Vance and Witkoff's alleged "opposition" to Trump dropping a nuke on Pickaxe Mountain other than to improve their public images? Even if what was said is true Vance and Witkoff are in a minority as according to Tucker himself, Trump's inner circle (not including Netanyahu) favors restarting the war. 🔗 Tucker Carlson
