💥💥 During the 2026 election cycle and culminating in the November 3, 2026 midterm elections, several high-profile candidates backed by the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC) or its affiliated super PAC, the United Democracy Project (UDP), suffered notable defeats. These losses were heavily concentrated in the competitive Democratic primaries leading up to the general election, prompting AIPAC to announce a major shift in its campaign strategy just weeks before the midterms. The prominent AIPAC-supported candidates who were defeated during this election cycle include: Senate Races Haley Stevens (Michigan): In the most expensive Democratic Senate primary in U.S. history, progressive Abdul El-Sayed defeated incumbent Representative Haley Stevens. AIPAC's super PAC, UDP, invested over $15 million to back Stevens and run attack ads against El-Sayed. Angie Craig (Minnesota): Craig, backed by AIPAC-aligned groups, was defeated in her primary race by progressive challenger Peggy Flanagan. House Races Melissa Hernandez (California, 14th District): Defeated by progressive candidate Aisha Wahab. UDP spent approximately $2.5 million trying to secure the seat for Hernandez. Melissa Conyears-Ervin (Illinois, 7th District): Lost her primary race to La Shawn Ford. UDP poured roughly $5 million into independent expenditures to support her campaign. Laura Fine (Illinois, 9th District): Defeated by progressive Daniel Biss. AIPAC-aligned organizations spent $6 million in an unsuccessful effort to boost Fine's candidacy. Adriano Espaillat (New York, 13th District): Longtime incumbent who received significant pro-Israel financial backing but was unseated in the primary by Darializa Avila Chevalier. John Larson (Connecticut, 1st District): Incumbent defeated by progressive challenger Luke Bronin. ✡ @JewTruthArchive
