🧵 Election Post-Mortem Initial thoughts on the morning after. https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/2117954261652836745.html

A clarifying lesson from a high school government teacher I was blessed to know: "Politics is on a pendulum, and that pendulum will always swing back the other way. Gravity is inevitable." If we put a bunch of push/pull (weight) into it in one direction, that force is going to come back in the opposite direction. The rate at which it swings and the energy it carries in that swing are really all we have influence over, as it will always swing back.

In school, we are given lessons by a teacher and material to study. Later, we are given a test on that same material. If we fail, we can try again. If we pass, we advance. But in life, we are often tested first. If we pass, we advance. If we fail, we have a choice: study the results of that test and take the right lessons from it, or decline to do so and risk failing the next one as well. My sincere prayer is that we will choose to study this election and learn the RIGHT lessons from it. One danger that will come with the post-mortem on the election is the temptation to either not learn from it OR to learn the WRONG lessons. Those wrong lessons include ones that pull us away from our values, that intoxicate us with denial or the blame game, and the worst lesson of all—giving up.

🧵"The Justice Department has notified as many as 20 Democratic operatives that they could be targets in its probe into the recruitment of unaffiliated Alaska Senate candidate Daniel J. Sullivan, according to multiple reports." Including Marc Elias. Possible charges include donor fraud and conspiracy. Thread https://threadreaderapp.com/thread/2117731852114883044.html

DOJ Recommends MAX Sentence Possible for Fmr Amb John Bolton in Classified Docs Mishandling Case Rumble https://rumble.com/v7htjeu-doj-recommends-max-sentence-possible-for-fmr-amb-john-bolton-in-classified-.html YouTube https://youtu.be/mTVZ2bmEzwo

Cognitive Warfare Undermines Your Ability to Discern True from False and Right from Wrong Cognitive Warfare targets your ability and willingness to discern credible from non-credible, true from false, right from wrong, and justice from injustice. We’ve seen the New World Order grift become the New Civil War grift, which became the Global Elites/Cabal grift, which is now becoming the Color Revolution grift—and will no doubt circle back to the [insert group] grift again. It’s boogeyman after boogeyman after boogeyman. It’s exhausting and a decades-old hat, but it appeals to humanity’s innate desire to dilute every problem down to the simple logic of “this person or thing is bad, so fear and oppose it if you want to be on the good and smart side.” Our biology inclines us to be cognitive misers. When something lets us outsource critical thinking, hands us a boogeyman, and gives us a socially acceptable (or advantageous) position to take, we tend to take it. Fighting this inclination is a conscious choice we must make again and again and again. Cognitive Warfare is in large part about undermining each person’s ability and willingness to make that choice. Splurging out on social media about perceived violations of voting rights or acts of election fraud is not helpful. Forwarding such posts to your followers also does not help. All you’re doing is making noise—noise that obscures the real violations and makes the job of investigators more difficult. If you truly believe you witnessed a civil rights violation, or if you have justifiable concerns about something you witnessed at a voting site, then report it to the proper authorities.

The 2026 midterm elections are TODAY. Your voice and your vote matter. Your country, your neighbors, and your kids need you to speak up and cast your ballot. GO VOTE. Ask your family and friends to do the same.

Just Human #384: Midterms, Comey, DOJ Recs 5yrs for Bolton, Brinksman Bond, Floris Case Dismissed In this episode, I talk midterm elections, make a correction regarding my earlier commenting on the Doe v. Gaetz lawsuit, celebrate Maurene Comey’s big win, and provide updates on the following criminal cases: Bolton, Brinksman, Floris, and SPLC. Be advised, there may be some editing errors and bloopers in this episode. I was in a bit of a rush to get this out to y’all. Enjoy! United States v. Floris (2x FBI Official False Statements case) CASE DISMISSED At the preliminary hearing this morning, prosecutors failed to present compelling evidence that a crime occurred, and the judge dismissed the case for lack of probable cause. As I have pointed out elsewhere, this case against Floris and Benevides was very weak. I am not at all surprised it was tossed out. But, like other cases this DOJ has brought, this seemed more about creating narratives and giving outrage slop to MAGA, so in that sense it was a success. Just like with the Comey cases, which will all end up dismissed, btw, MAGA is not going to be interested in understanding what happened and why. The MAGA-sphere analysis will begin and end with "FBI Agents BAD, Comey BAD, judge BAD!" (sigh) Linked below is a thread I wrote about the Floris case. Even with its flaws and despite my complaints about how MAGA will interpret its demise, I still think there is something going on here worth paying attention to. The Bolton case is yet another investigation that began under the Biden Admin. That’s not a club to hit political opponents over the head with. It’s a white pill for your mental health, regardless of which political side you tend to fall on. 🧵DOJ asks judge to sentence former National Security Advisor John R. Bolton to 60 months incarceration, 3 years supervised release, plus a fine. "The only conceivable explanation for Mr. Bolton’s brazen conduct is that he thought he was above the law. Mr. Bolton’s sentence should send the message that senior federal officials like him are not above the law; they must follow the same rules, regulations, and laws as everyone else." This cannot possibly be true. I’ve been repeatedly told by both people who hate Trump and Trump supporters victimized by Russian disinfo ops that Trump is on Putin’s side. 🧵United States v. Brinksman (CIA Contractor/Substack Girlfriend case) Brinksman was released on a PR bond with the following conditions: - custody of third party (I believe it to be his mom) - turn over passports - GPS monitoring - no computers, no phones, no gaming, no internet - no contact with co-conspirators, including Journalist-1, aka Substack Girl, aka Aida Chavez And the worst part of the conditions... - stay in Maryland In this thread I break down what's happened in the case so far and look ahead to what DOJ may do next.
