😎#BTC Liquid Hacker Demands 10% of Stolen Funds The attacker, who presented himself as a "white hat hacker," abruptly shifted his tone, accusing Liquid of allegedly allocating a mere $1.5 million (or nothing at all) to protect $5 billion in assets, calling it gross negligence. The hacker demanded 10% of the stolen funds as a bounty for discovering the vulnerability. He threatened that otherwise, holders would incur losses of up to 15%. He also stated that he would later publish a private key to allow their correspondence to be decrypted.

Hacken found that compromising just two signing keys could potentially be enough to gain administrative control over USDT on the TRON network—minting new tokens, freezing addresses, and modifying contract parameters. Moreover, operations execute without any time delay, and there is no on-chain limit on issuance volume. Some keys are also shared across multiple networks. There are currently no signs of a breach, but Hacken rated USDT cybersecurity at just 3.3 out of 10.

👍#GRAM Telegram is launching a non-custodial Gram Wallet. Pavel Durov announced that Gram Wallet is already available to a limited group of users, and in the coming weeks, it will gradually begin rolling out to the Telegram audience. Gram Wallet is linked to the account, and the first five transactions each day will be free. According to Durov, thanks to the new architecture, future wallet updates will not require complex migrations.

👾#Crypto Hackers have stolen 594 BTC from Coldcard Mk3 hardware wallets. On July 30, around 594.5 BTC (roughly $38 million) was drained from about 500 wallets. Every affected address was single-sig — no multisig or Taproot wallets were involved. Seed phrases generated on Mk3 devices running firmware 4.0.1–5.0.3 (released since March 2021) may be compromised due to weak entropy (around 72 bits instead of 128+). In some cases, the random number generator skipped the hardware TRNG and relied on predictable inputs, including button presses during setup. This allowed attackers to reconstruct private keys offline.

🖥#AI HRL Laboratories has unveiled a silicon quantum processor featuring a cryogenic CMOS controller capable of performing real-time quantum error correction without relying on external room-temperature electronics. The system architecture consists of an 18-qubit chip, a cryogenic controller, and a superconducting ribbon cable. According to the researchers, control errors were reduced by a factor of 10 compared to previous demonstrations using this qubit technology, while individual gate operations were completed in under one microsecond. As the number of qubits increased under a repetition-code scheme, the system achieved roughly a fivefold suppression of errors. HRL says this marks the first demonstration of quantum error correction performed entirely by a cryogenic controller, with no involvement from room-temperature electronics.
