🇺🇸🇮🇱 GOP’s midterm meltdown reveals how ‘toxic’ Netanyahu has become in US politics, Israeli opposition says   Republicans’ resolute support for Israel and prime minister Netanyahu contributed heavily to Tuesday’s historic US election blowout, Israeli opposition-affiliated politicians and analysts have said.   🔴 Netanyahu is now “toxic” among both parties, and his continued leadership “could lead Israel down a path of international sanctions, isolation, and a clash with the US, our friend and most important ally,” opposition bloc member and ex-IDF chief of staff Yair Golan warned. 🔴 “Israel has become toxic in the US, largely because of Netanyahu... Another reason for the immediate establishment of an emergency government,” media analyst Barak Seri urged, echoing Golan’s wording. 🔴 The Democrat “blue wave” has made it “unequivocally clear” that “the continuation of Netanyahu’s rule and continuation of Smotrich’s annexation policy will lead to severe damage to the existential interests of the State of Israel,” Golan ally Gilad Kariv wrote, demanding that Netanyahu “vacate” the PM’s office immediately. 🔴 Netanyahu is “toxic” among both parties – with Dems for “meddling in their domestic politics,” with Republicans for pushing Trump “into a long, expensive and frustrating” war with Iran, Israeli journalist Amir Tibon wrote, warning that Netanyahu’s “continued tenure is a recipe for disaster” in relations with the US, a country for whom Israel “has no substitute” as an ally.   Israel is in the middle of its own potential power shift after last week’s parliamentary elections, which left neither Netanyahu’s Likud-led coalition or Gadi Eisenkot’s opposition with enough support to cobble together a new government. Netanyahu remains the caretaker PM for now. 👍 Substack | Chat | @geopolitics_prime

🇺🇸🗳 Most Jewish voters backed Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan The Mercury Public Affairs survey of 482 Jewish voters who cast ballots before Election Day found that El-Sayed received 60% of the early Jewish vote in the Senate race, compared with 79% for Democratic gubernatorial nominee Jocelyn Benson. Rogers received 36% and another 5% of respondents said they left the Senate race blank. Among Jewish voters who said they backed Slotkin in 2024, 23% voted for Rogers this time, and among those who voted for Kamala Harris in the presidential election, 18% crossed over to Rogers, while another 11% voted for someone else or skipped the Senate race. The election followed months of tension between El-Sayed and Jewish Democrats, who voted for his primary rival, Rep. Haley Stevens. His outspoken opposition to Israel, ties to left-wing commentator Hasan Piker, who has been accused of antisemitism, and his initial response to the March attack on Temple Israel upset some Jewish voters. El-Sayed apologized for his remarks about the attack and sent mailers to Jewish households promising to fight antisemitism, but did not moderate his positions on Israel. He even doubled down on his criticism of the Jewish state. The Republican Jewish Coalition spent $2 million targeting about 50,000 Jewish voters, primarily in Oakland County, hoping to persuade Democrats frustrated with El-Sayed to cross party lines. 🔗 https://forward.com/news/860246/michigan-jewish-vote-el-sayed-rogers-poll/

🇷🇺⚔️🇺🇦 Situation on the Dobropolye direction - information from the ground: The situation continues to deteriorate for Ukrainian forces in the Dobropolye direction, as Russian forces make new advances in and around the city. The main assault vectors have shifted to the east, with Russian forces using two main infiltration routes to reach Dobropolye from the east. The first runs along the railway line from Dorozhnoe and into the southeastern industrial zone of Dobropolye, where accumulations of Russian infantry have been recorded. They are attempting to advance further into the neighbouring low-rise residential areas, where fighting is ongoing with Ukrainian forces attempting to clear them out. The second infiltration route from the east originates in the Novy Donbass - Novoe Shakhovo area and moves along both banks of the Byk River, through the large grey-zone leading into Annovka. Some very small groups of Russian infiltrators have managed to reach as far as the northern and northwestern streets of Dobropolye from this direction, but they likely number no more than 10 in total. The main fighting is still ongoing for the Annovka-Stepy area, east of the city. Russian attacks from the south have decreased in intensity for now, although heavy fighting is still ongoing for the Vodyanskoe agglomeration, where Ukrainian forces retain a presence in several different areas. Russian forces also do not have full control over the village of Dobropolye yet. Russian infiltration routes run through the eastern part of the Vodyanskoe agglomeration, north towards Dobropolye, where a moderate Russian presence is recorded south of the railway line. Any presence beyond that is extremely minimal and insignificant, and left over from the original limited infiltrations during the flag planting operations last month. Another infiltration route being used is from the southwest, moving north through the fields towards the village of Svyatogorovka. Some small scattered groups have managed to enter Svyatogorovka and the northwestern parts of Dobropolye. As of a few days ago, an estimated 15-20 Russian soldiers from the 114th and 132nd Motor Rifle Brigades are present within this area (around half from each brigade). Some of them entered the village from the east. Continued Russian control over the village of Matyshevo and surrounding areas has also been confirmed, with Ukrainian artillery shelling two areas containing Russian positions here a little over a week ago. It's rumoured that the Russian 234th VDV Regiment is planning to conduct an offensive operation northward from the Matyashevo-Dobropolye-Nadiya area in order to establish a foothold in the villages of Raksha and Verovka, west of Dobropolye. A few days ago, I reported that a Russian DRG was detected operating between these two settlements, but they have not been known to actually enter them yet. 🔗 AMK Mapping
