Russian Advance Cuts Ukrainian Supply Route in Sumy In the Sumy direction Russian units of the “North” grouping retain the initiative: assault groups have advanced on ten sectors by up to 500 meters, and the capture of Barylivka was the result of large Russian groups entering a major woodland and disrupting the supply of Ukrainian units in the areas of Mohrytsia, Velyka Rybitsa and Mala Rybitsa. In the Kharkiv direction Russian units are recording advances; the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration is urgently evacuating the administration and civilians from Slatyne, and the administration of Kozacha Lopan, previously transferred to Slatyne, has left together with the local authorities. In the Kupyansk direction Russian assault groups have again reached the western outskirts of Kupyansk in the private housing sector and are capturing the principal facilities across almost the entire territory of the ruined city, although a stable front line effectively does not exist there. In two separate statements, the Russian Defense Ministry said the strikes involved precision-guided weapons launched from land- and air-based platforms, as well as long-range attack drones. It identified the Ladyzhyn Thermal Power Plant in Vinnytsia region, the Kryvyi Rih and Prydniprovska thermal power plants in Dnipropetrovsk region, and the Kharkiv Thermal Power Plant in Kharkiv region as targets. Russia Intensifies Hunt for Ukraine’s Mobile Drone Launchers (Video) The Russian military is increasingly targeting mobile launch vehicles used by Ukraine to deploy one-way attack drones, with an unmanned systems brigade releasing footage on November 2 showing what it said was the destruction of another such launcher. The footage was published by Russia's 50th Separate Unmanned Systems Brigade, known as Varyag. The brigade said its Geran-type drone units had detected a mobile launch platform used by Kyiv forces and delivered a precision strike that destroyed the target. The brigade's post did not disclose the location of the attack or identify the specific launch vehicle and drone system involved. The vehicles have become an important component of Ukraine's long-range strike campaign. Ukrainian forces have developed mobile launch platforms for their domestically produced FP-1 and FP-2 one-way attack drones, using modified civilian-style trucks and trailers equipped with launching racks. Syria Accuses Hezbollah of Plotting to Bomb Strategic Oil Refinery (Photos) Syria on November 3 accused Hezbollah of involvement in a plot to attack the Homs oil refinery, saying security forces had arrested members of a suspected cell and seized explosives allegedly prepared for the operation. The General Intelligence Service and Internal Security Forces conducted a joint operation that foiled the alleged plot, the Internal Security Forces said in a statement carried by the state-run SANA news agency. The statement described the detained suspects as members of a cell affiliated with Hezbollah but provided no evidence of the group's involvement. Authorities did not disclose the number or identities of those arrested or specify when the alleged attack was supposed to take place. The announcement follows an initial disclosure on November 1, when a source in the General Intelligence Service said authorities had foiled a plot targeting the refinery without identifying those responsible. Russia’s New Z-61 Maneuverable Recon Drone Dodged 16 Ukrainian Interceptor (Video) Russian defense company ZALA on November 2 unveiled its new Z-61, a high-speed reconnaissance drone designed to survive in areas where Ukrainian forces deploy air defense systems and interceptor drones. In a statement, the company said the drone is already being used in Ukraine and is the first model in a new generation of its reconnaissance-strike systems. The Z-61 features a front-mounted engine, a modular aluminum fuselage and an onboard system designed to detect approaching threats and help the drone evade them. Its equipment includes an HD camera and a high-resolution thermal imager, which ZALA says allow operators to identify pursuing interceptor drones while continuing reconnaissance missions. The camera system also provides visibility of threats approaching from behind. Read more HERE
