Castel Savoia, Italy The Queen and the Mirror of Monte Rosa High above Gressoney, in a place the old people call Belvedere — "the beautiful view" — there was nothing but wind and larches. Down in the valley lived the Walser. They said Monte Rosa was not just a mountain, but a great Queen herself, made of ice and rose-light. She only showed her true face at dawn, when the snow turned pink. If you were kind and humble, she let you pass. If you were proud, she hid herself in clouds. One summer, a real Queen came to the valley. Queen Margherita of Savoy. She had lived in grand palaces in Rome and Turin, with marble halls and heavy curtains. But she was tired. Her husband the King had passed, and her heart was heavy. She came to Gressoney because the Barons Beck Peccoz had told her: "Here the air washes your thoughts." On her first morning in the valley, she climbed up to Belvedere. The clouds were low. She could not see Monte Rosa at all. She sat down and wept. An old Walser woman gathering blueberries found her. "Why are you crying, lady? You are dressed as a queen." "Because I built my life on stone palaces, and they have not kept me safe or happy," Margherita said. "I came to see the Rose Mountain, but she will not show herself to me." The old woman smiled. "She will. But you must not ask her to come to you. You must build something here that belongs to her, not to you." So Margherita did something no other queen had done. She did not order a Roman palace with columns. She called architect Emilio Stramucci and said: "Build me a castle that looks like it grew here. Like a fairy tale from the Lombard books. With towers that point to the sky like fir trees. With wood that smells like our forests. With stone from our own quarries — from Chiappey, Gaby and Vert. Make it three floors — one for the people who work, one for the guests, and one for dreams." And so, stone by stone, Castel Savoia was built. It was not the biggest castle, nor the richest. Inside, the ceilings were wood carved like a coffer, the tapestries were simple linen and cotton. No gold. But every window was placed to be a mirror. The day the castle was finished, Margherita woke before sunrise and went to her favorite window on the noble floor. The sky was clear. And for the first time, Monte Rosa rose before her, huge, entirely pink, as if the mountain had put on a rose-colored dress for her. The old Walser woman was right below in the garden. "You see?" the woman called up. "You built a house that looks at her, not one that wants her to look at it. That is why she came." From then on, Margherita spent every summer there. She walked without a crown. She invited the children of the valley to play billiards, she let shepherds warm themselves in her kitchens. They say the castle never cast a shadow over the village — because it was built to look outward, not downward. The Walser still say: if you stand at Belvedere at dusk in autumn, when the mist rises from the Lys and the lights come on in the castle, you can see two queens looking at each other — the white castle with its five little towers, and the great pink mountain behind it. And for a moment you understand: *You do not have to be taller to be seen. You have to belong where you are.* That's why Castel Savoia is called the fairy castle. Not because a fairy lived there, but because a queen finally learned to listen like one. Join @EARTHSEEDERS Join us now ∙ Channel ∙ Chat

Venus Retrograde & the Spine of the Sky Weaving Polynesian Wayfinding into the World of Astrology In Hawaiian wayfinding (navigation) there is something called: Nā ‘Ohana Hōkū ‘Ehā. The Four Star Families. These star families, also referred to as star lines, restructure the modern constellations into unique star patterns that divide the night sky into 4 equal parts that visually connect constellations in the northern hemisphere to those in the southern hemisphere for the purpose of navigating the open ocean. Each star line has its own Hawaiian name. One star line in particular is getting activated because Venus is currently retrograding through a section of it. The star line is called Ka-iwi-kua-mo-o. Kaiwikuamo’o means backbone or spine in Hawaiian. This star family is designated as the spine because the star that begins this star line in the northern hemisphere is Polaris, the North Star, and the constellation that completes it in the southern hemisphere is Crux, the Southern Cross. This is important because the North Star and the Southern Cross are markers of the northern and southern celestial poles. In other words, the North Star and the Southern Cross highlight the two still points in the sky in each hemisphere in which all stars appear to revolve around. This fact emphasizes significant questions that this Venus retrograde is asking— What are you currently revolving around? It’s easy to get caught in the strong orbits of relationships, jobs, the status quo, the state of the world, etc., especially as the volume of the collective seems to only be growing louder. But this Venus retrograde is inviting you to tune in with yourself to see if you are, in fact, the still point in which your own life rotates, or are you at the effect of the external world, getting pulled in countless directions? Put simply, this Venus retrograde in the Spine of the Sky is inviting you to remember: You are a gravitational force. You can carve out your own orbit. And perhaps, most importantly, you get to choose who/what is allowed within it. Join @EARTHSEEDERS
