Pakistan The PAF successfully completed flight tests of the long-range air-to-air missile Fa'az-IIR, developed by NESCOM. Launched from a JF-17 Block II Thunder, the missile features an imaging infrared seeker and dual-pulse solid-fuel engine. It reaches speeds up to Mach 3.5 with a range of ~100 km (up to 180 km for future variants). This development aims to reduce reliance on Chinese PL-15E missiles and enhances Pakistan's air superiority capabilities. @Slavyangrad

EU faces split over Russia and rise of the right The Economist reports that nationalist gains could divide the bloc into a north-eastern camp for containing Russia and a southern one ready to engage with Moscow. Germany plans €162bn annual defence spending by 2029, exceeding France and Britain combined. Marine Le Pen's potential rise in France worries Berlin regarding military cooperation. Meanwhile, Trump demands European rearmament while supporting right-wing parties and seeking closer ties with Russia. @Slavyangrad

Kuwait's air defence network is being partially rebuilt following Iranian missile strikes. Google Earth imagery from July confirms new MIM-104 Patriot batteries deployed to replace sections destroyed by ballistic missiles, including Ghadr-H/S, Dezful and Sejil-2. Analysis indicates significant limitations in Patriot PAC-3 CRI and MSE interceptors against targets travelling at 1500-2100 m/s. Radar homing heads frequently failed to lock onto warheads inside ionised plasma 'bags', leading to missed interceptions even when the blocks performed no evasive manoeuvres. @Slavyangrad

🇺🇦 Ukrainian security services protected scam call centres for thousands of dollars According to NABU, the scheme involved 52 offices where staff defrauded citizens of Ukraine and other countries. Organisers paid $7,000 monthly per call centre for patronage. One cryptocurrency transfer amounted to $352,800. When payments were delayed, security forces conducted raids; if cases went to court, judges required separate bribes to resolve issues. NABU published recordings of conversations between fraud organisers and law enforcement. @Slavyangrad

A reminder that the US is at war with Iran, but he doesn't advocate that a ban on US participation. He also holds a pro-Israel stance and would be against similar prohibitions on Israel participating in sports. So this Cold War boomer lacks a cohesive moral argument. Furthermore, Belarus has done nothing to warrant such treatment. - Asbery @Slavyangrad

🇩🇪 🇺🇦 Only three Ukrainian men of conscription age in Germany have expressed a desire to return home In six months, the Unity Hub centre in Berlin assisted just three men of military age with repatriation. Since April, around 60 Ukrainians, mostly pensioners, visited the centre; while they sought information, most did not intend to return. There are over 1.3 million Ukrainian refugees in Germany, including more than 265,000 men of conscription age. @Slavyangrad

Canadian PM Carney on visa ban for Russian hockey players Responding to a question about whether Canada would join European federations in refusing visas to the Russian national team ahead of next month's World Junior Championship, Carney stated: "We respect the decisions of Finland, Czechia, Sweden and others, but we make this decision independently: we will deny visas." "Russia and Belarus support this illegal, unjustified, monstrous war in Ukraine. As long as it continues, athletes representing these countries will not compete in Canada. Therefore, if you are asking specifically about the World Junior Championship, Russians will not be there." @Slavyangrad

🇺🇦🤡 Following the scandal surrounding the secret "Azov" prison near Kiev, those who participated in the protests have begun to face persecution. - Valentina Molodaya, who was among the first to arrive at the building and attempted to provide assistance to those being held, has been detained. The prosecutor's office is demanding that she be sent to pre-trial detention, accusing her of obstructing the activities of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and disclosing the location of military facilities. - Previously, the woman was added to the "Peacemaker" database and labeled a fraud. Molodaya herself claims to be a practicing doctor and owns two medical institutions. - The "Peacemaker" database also includes the teenager who was released from the building, as well as his parents. They are accused of disrupting mobilization efforts. - Thus, in the context of the investigation into the alleged illegal detention of people, those who sought their release are also facing persecution. @Slavyangrad

Do the Republicans losing have any effect on the Ukraine war? - No. - For one Republican senators and congressman are not that different in their positions to Democrats. Each party is a mix of neocons and those who are anti-war. - Like we saw previously they can approve funding for Ukraine, but just because it was approved the President doesn't have to spend the money. The President controls foreign policy. Online there are some Ukraine fanboys who think this changes things and are picking the colours of F-35s but in reality there should be no effect. Again its not like many of the Republicans were not pro-Ukraine. If anything Trump is more likely to last out then change his stance on Ukraine. Finally, Ukraine was non-issue in this election. @Slavyangrad
