🏆 The International Olympiad in Informatics (IOI) ends today. 🇷🇺Students from Moscow and St. Petersburg won 2🥇gold and 2🥈silver medals — well done, Vladislav Zhiganov (#2 overall!), Maksim Kravchenko, Sergei Mukhanov and Vladimir Zvezdin! 🇺🇦Ukraine won 3 medals: 🥇 gold for Vladyslav Khalin, and 2🥈 silver for Illia Shevchenko and Daria Perekopska 💪 🇧🇾 Belarus took 1🥇gold and 1🥈silver, won by Kiryl Kardash and Fiodar Sashko, plus two bronze medals from their teammates. 🇰🇿Kazakhstan did well too, winning 1🥇gold and 3🥈silver medals to finish in the top five as a team, while Maksim Tsoy came #5 overall. 🇰🇬Kyrgyzstan picked up 2🥈 silver and 2🥉 bronze medals! 🤝 🇺🇿Uzbekistan, the host country, put on a great showing: 1🥈 silver for Jakhonali Khaydaraliyev and 3🥉bronze medals. 🇨🇳The strongest results of all, though, came from China 👏 At today's award ceremony, the IOI organizers are giving the 188 Algorithm Cups 🎁🎁🎁 to the winners. The organizers of the sister olympiad, IOAI, are sending the 220 Intelligence Cups 🏆🏆🏆 to their winners remotely. These are the only digital collectibles Telegram has issued this year, so they could end up worth much more than the guaranteed $1,000 for gold. We're proud to support the brightest young programmers of our time 🧠

    A high-school student just made $20,000 from a Telegram Gift. Jonathan He, an IOI gold medalist ranked #7 in the world, sold his Algorithm Cup — an NFT we gave to the top young coders this month — for 💎 15,000 Grams. Happy for him. It's a meaningful sum for someone still in school, and I suspect a small fraction of what he'll go on to build. 20 years ago, $20K was enough for me to launch my first company. Within months, it had reached 1M users and raised $12M at a $60M valuation. 💸 I hope some of this year's winners put their Grams to similar use! 📈
