✊ SEC Allows Tokenized Stock Trading SEC has allowed limited trading of tokenized stocks on blockchain through a five-year “Innovation Exemption”, effective immediately. It is the regulator’s first concrete step after the CLARITY Act failed in the Senate. Trading venues for tokenized securities are exempt from being classified as exchanges. Liquidity providers trading stocks or operating through smart contracts, including AMMs, are exempt from dealer classification. SEC Chair Paul Atkins called it a step toward “bringing US capital markets into the digital age,” while acting “within the commission’s authority” after the initiative failed in Congress. ✅ Follow @cryp
